trip to nyc 2022

I remember the flight to nyc being extremely delayed. A 2 hour trip turned into a 5 hour one but I was so excited anyways because I was seeing New York for the first time :) i was also going to be with my best friend at the time so it was worth it.

This trip was fairly short but it’s amazing how much you can pack into a 4-5 day trip, especially in nyc!! I’m gonna be real I was a glizzy gobbler on this trip… it was my only craving. Santa Salsa in Brooklyn is amazing if you’re craving one hahaha.

Our first visit was to MoMa, which is a must see if you ever visit New York! I absolutely love museums and I saw so many works of art that I have admired since I was a kid. Including starry night, I know that one is extremely well known but it was still really cool to see in person. There was also this exhibit that wrapped around the entire room and it was so cute for pics. It had a bunch of writing all over the walls and the messages were interesting to read.

The following days we walked around Central Park, Brooklyn, and we walked by the Radio City Music Hall, which I was dying to see. As a kid I wanted to live in New York and train to be a Rockette. It was a cute little moment, and hopefully I can see them perform in person some day!

On the last day we went to this places called the Summit One Vanderbilt. It is located in Manhattan, and honestly was one of the most breathtaking things I’ve seen. I could be biased because I have always been a city girl, and skylines literally make me cry. BUT it was such a stunning experience and even though it was $50 a ticket, it was so worth it. We went at the latest time to see all of the lights. The room itself was mirrored and you could go on different levels to see different views of the city. They had a really cool chrome art piece in the center of where you switch levels. When we got to the top there was a rooftop bar, and we were able to sit outside and watch the city. I’m really dramatic and started crying lol but it made me love nyc even more. After, we got a caricature drawn of us and it was a cute little touch to the trip. Highly recommend!!

This trip was one of my favorites because it was my first time in New York and it was so peaceful with my best friend. Everything that we did was memorable as well. When I was in 4th grade I remember my state project being New York and it was cool to see the places I wanted to visit so bad. I was also obsessed with gossip girl. like OBSESSED, so I was really having my Blair moment hahahah. New York is one of the places you can go to and have a great experience every time. The people are amazing and so open to conversation, which is kind of rare to me in Minnesota. It’s funny because recently I’ve been having a lot of amazing conversations with new people at bars (in MN) and a majority of them are from New York, or have lived there. I highly recommend visiting Manhattan and Brooklyn if you ever get the chance!!!
