solo trip to cabo
This trip was kind of done last minute. I wasn’t really expecting to go somewhere but from the last resort, I had received a voucher where I was able to stay at the hotel of my choice for a discounted price. I wanted to take advantage of that because the voucher was valid for a few years, and you never know what the future holds. I was able to get a hotel in Cabo that was the same resort Le Blanc. I had never been to Cabo and needed a new experience. Also, my birthday is around Christmas (3 days before) and holiday season is really hard for me. I wanted to give myself a present for all of the hard work I did throughout the year.
Overall, I felt a lot more prepared going into this trip because I had travelled to Cancun alone so I knew what to expect in a way. The trip there was a breeze. I had perfect seating again so everything was perfect. I actually found out that the week that I went was one of the coldest weeks in February, but I still had an amazing time nonetheless.
The resort itself is stunning. I spent the first day exploring the whole resort and looking around at all the architecture. I will say this whole trip I was extremely tired, and I’m not sure if it was just emotional stress or what but I would barely keep my eyes open at dinner… like almost every night. I honestly felt even more alone than I did when I was in Cancun. But this level of solitude was well needed and super relaxing. I wasn’t constantly on the go; I was just taking it day by day at my own pace.
The food was amazing!! Le Blanc Cancun/Los Cabos have not disappointed me yet. they had cute little food stands, and they had a dessert bakery-my favorite. Breakfast is one of my favorite foods, so I went crazy in the mornings at the breakfast bar. The room service was stellar. I ordered room service so I could take cute pics, but the croissant made me feel like I was in Paris or something lol. I don’t typically go to high-end hotels, so both experiences make me feel like I’m being treated like a princess. My favorite restaurant was this place that was overlooking the ocean. There is this area that overlooks the ocean and I would come here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! It was so beautiful after I would watch the sunrise, and enjoy my brekky right after. Personally, I’m a morning person so if I’m on a trip I will wake up to see the sunrise. On this trip I woke up almost every single morning to see the sunrise so that also played a part in me going to bed so early at night. I’m so happy that I did that because I was able to enjoy my breakfast, and I would journal on the beach. I felt so connected with myself more than I ever had. Anyways, the drinks are also really good, so I really took advantage of the cabana service. I was able to rent one and there is a swim up bar and infinity pool right outside the cabana area. You can’t swim in the water in Cabo, which I knew before going there, so I really took advantage of all the pools that they had. I also would lay out at the beach sometimes. I saw some whale action close to the shore that was interesting to watch. I tried to enjoy everything on this trip just because it was so beautiful. That’s me on most trips though. I always find myself needing to experience everything.
The only activity that I did was this luxury sunset boat cruise. I had to take a transfer for it, so I got to see the town, and more of the Cabo culture, which I loved. It was very memorable, and I got to see all the famous landmarks in the water during sunset. It was perfect weather that day actually, and they were playing oldies I felt like I was in a movie. They provided a bento snack box, and they had an open bar. This day was actually a full moon in Leo. I felt very connected with that energy, and it was a beautiful experience because the next morning when I woke up to see the sunrise, there was a perfect full moon still visible. I got to take pretty pictures of the Full moon and Leo during the night and also during the morning! It was like looking at cotton candy skies, and then you just see this big full moon. Amazing.
My favorite dinner experience was at my favorite spot. I was able to get this really good spot overlooking this event that was happening below, and they were having fireworks. I was watching the fireworks as I was eating my dinner, and it was just memorable for sure. I was so happy in that moment because I felt so present, which that’s what I try to do when I go on trips. I try to be in the present moment as much as possible because it helps me to remember experiences better :)
I also did the spa experience where I was taken through this whole spa journey. They started off giving you a little tea shot and then you go sit in the sauna for awhile to open your pores. After you lay on these rock beds that are heated to relax your body/muscles. After that you go into the steam room, which was really interesting architecturally; it felt like a hot igloo. The inside looked like it was made from the 70s or something. Then you shower to go into this Pool area where there is a hot tub, swimming pool with fountains, and then there is a deep plunge pool. I did all three because I wanted to experience the whole thing. You could stay for as long as you’d like, and it was just amazing. I kept going back-and-forth from the hot tub to the pool because the cold plunge pool was so intense lol.
I am so thankful I got to experience Cabo so peacefully. I love solo trips because I become so connected with myself, and with nature honestly. I love receiving epiphanies to help me understand myself better, and I notice this is heightened when I am completely alone :)
