nyc trip 2023

This trip was honestly so much fun. I started off by going to joy face which is a cute little bar that plays oldies music. They also had a waterbed, and it was decorated with a 70s vibe which is amazing because the 70s is probably one of my favorite time periods. The next day we went to times Square, and we walked around for a bit and took pics and the craziest thing happened. I literally manifested seeing world of T-shirts because the days following the trip I kept talking to my friends about how much I wanted to see world of T-shirts, and I mean, I honestly didn’t even expect to see him, but I was we were taking pictures. He comes walking down the street cheifing his cigarette, and it was one of the funniest things ever because I had not expected to see him at all but I had manifested him. It was such a funny little experience for the trip. We went to this floral bloom exhibit at The Edge. After you could walk out and look at the skyline. We went during the day but it would probably be so pretty at sunset. We also went to this place called Sveta, and it was really fun. They had such interesting craft cocktails, and as you know I’m a real big fan of for craft cocktails and fun and crazy drinks. so this place had all of the above. They had so many drinks to choose from and they were all really cool and interesting. I chose this Moss ball that was smoking dry ice. It looked like a mini terrarium. I also got an astronaut that was like peeing into my drink cup. It was really cool. I have to insert a video because explaining doesn’t do it justice.

We spent the majority of our trip exploring the city and trying out a bunch of different restaurants. Everyone picked out such cute places to eat at. It’s so easy to find the cutest spots in nyc bc there are spots everywhere! We went thrift shopping as well and it was really fun being able to look at all the brownstone homes in New York. I think there’s so much beautiful architecture in New York and I had a lot of fun on this trip seen things that I didn’t see on my last trip.

One of the nights we went to this zodiac bar that was a whole experience. To start, the inside and outside of the restaurant are so beautifully decorated with flowers. You start off by spinning the wheel of fortune, and then draw a card for your tarot reading. It’s supposed to be like what drink you are drawn to energetically, but you could order any zodiac drink off the menu. They had every sign as a cocktail and it was pretty spot on in regards to zodiac personalities. It was funny because we all got each others signs except our own lol. My favorite was the Aquarius drink. It had a fun glass and more of a refreshing drink but it was good. My second fav was the Gemini which I believe was a take on the pornstar martini. This was such a cool experience and I definitely recommend if you are into astrology!! The restaurant is called Le Salon Cocktail Lounge located in Greenwich Village.

If you’re from MN you know how horrible the club life is in Minneapolis… so coming here was much needed lol. Not only are the clubs fun, but the girlies are NICE!! I never have issues in nyc with people. I honestly don’t understand the stigma on nyc people being mean. I have met some of the most friendly and fun people here. The girls will forever hype you up :,) one of the nights we pregamed at the Fleur Room. This is right by the Empire State Building and it is literally gorgeous at night seeing the skyline. They had little krabby Patties too (burgers lol) and other snacks and it made me sad MN does absolutely nothing like this lol I feel like the clubs would be so much more fun if they promoted it well! But I digress… We then went to The Stranger which was my fav out of all the clubs we went to. The other ones were Lavo and The Palace. The stranger is the sister location of the box and it is sooo much fun! There is so much going on and you’re always being entertained. There are multiple levels and rooms you can adventure into. Lowkey my inner child was screaming happiness I felt like I was in an adult McDonald’s play place on steroids. They had performers, people on stilts, edm lights, and they even had the big parachutes that you would use in gym class back in the day :,) Which is another reason my inner child was so happy there. We had to be behind the dj every time (obviii) but it was so much fun exploring the whole club, and every room felt like a different experience.

One of my favorite experiences on this trip was the hot tub sunset boat cruise. We went at 8pm which was a perfect time because you could experience the sunset and the pretty night lights all in the same trip. The boat tours around the stature of Liberty, and it takes you to see the whole skyline of Manhattan. We booked through Sea The City and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! The staff were very sweet, and made our experience so memorable. You can play your own music, and byob. We brought like 3 bottles of champagne for safe measure gahahah. It was nice being in the hot tub too because boat rides can get chilly. We were playing lana (DOUBLE OBVI) and just vibing in the perfect weather. Definitely one of my favorite experiences ever!! It can get pricy but it’s honestly worth it, especially going with your besties or s/o. I got home after this trip and went to the Highlight Room located in the Moxy. I want to do a quick little review on the Moxy Lower East Side because we stayed there and loved it! I think it’s in a perfect location and we had no issues with the room or hotel at all. It was giving boutique hotel, even though they are a chain. The price is reasonable too, so if you are looking for a good hotel i definitely the Lower East Side location!

Overall this trip was so much fun, and I am so happy I got to enjoy more of New York. After turning 21 I’ve been living trying new cocktail bars and clubs. I honestly don’t go out that much anymore when I’m in Minnesota, so whenever I do leave I love to take advantage of all the fun experiences! I loved trying the different types of restaurants too. New York has some of the best food ever, I will have to make a separate post with specific details on restaurants!
