21st Birthday in Vegas

Today I was reminiscing on 21st birthday to Vegas so I wanted to share my experiences with you! I actually always have wanted to go to Vegas for my 21st. I’d been planning this because I think Vegas is such a fun place to experience that chapter in your life. it’s a classic and I was super excited to be 21 and experience things that I haven’t yet. I went with one of my friends at the time. We went a day before my birthday, and got night plane tickets so I would turn 21 after we landed. We were supposed to stay for only four days, but we ended up staying for five because of some crazy weather. My birthday is right around Christmas so there were a lot of delays happening around that time with travel.  The funniest thing happened to me after we landed. I was stressing because our flight got delayed and I wanted to be ready in time to go out right at 12am. Our suitcases came out at the exact same time ( or so we thought) and we thought it was weird bc we both checked in at different times. I actually had picked up a random girls suitcase that was identical to mine. I was in such a rush to get ready I didn’t double check my bag. NEVER AGAIN!! lol I had gotten to the hotel and I get this call from the airport employee saying that this girl has my bag and I have hers so we had to go all the way back to the airport just to get my bag. We went out a little bit later, But we got to the hotel around like seven or eight so we still had time before I was 21.

Literally seconds after turning 21 we go to this bar called the Gatsby bar.  It’s located in one of the casinos on the strip, and they have such a cute art deco theme. They had the champagne bathtub where they put little duckies in this ice mini bath tub, and then they poured champagne over it. After that we decided to go to a hookah bar because most places were closed due to my birthday being 3 days before Christmas. It was amazing because for our first times in Vegas it wasn’t super busy, but on the other hand a lot of the fun clubs were closed because it was “dry week” before New Years. This is something to note if you ever plan on going to vegas around Christmas! We had so much fun at the hookah bar. That was my first time going to one and I didn’t realize that you weren’t supposed to completely inhale….. let’s just say I embarrassed myself multiple times with the hookah yaks.

The next morning was for all of my big birthday plans! I spent a lot of time months before planning and finding the cutest places. One thing about me is wherever I go on a trip, I’m always going to find the cutest places. I don’t care where we are what we’re doing. I’m always gonna find the cutest places!  I’m really big into my aesthetic so we started off at this café called ilovecafelola! It’s pretty far out from the strip, but it was worth it because they had the cutest interactive drinks. I got the sorbet rosé where they scoop strawberry sorbet, then you pour some rosé over top. They also had a cotton candy drink that would turn the orange drink purple.  The reason I came to this place was for the most adorable tea set. It comes with your choice of tea (I believe I got the pomegranate hibiscus) and cute little sandwiches and pastries. For food I ordered the strawberries and cream waffles. This place was truly a dream and the perfect way to start my birthday morning!

The next spot on my list was Vanderpump. This is the perfect place for cute drinks, cool aesthetic, and small bites. Keep in mind on this trip I went all out just because it was my 21st. I never really took my birthday seriously in the past, so this birthday meant a lot to me. Vanderpump is located in the center of the Venetian. It was a perfect place for pictures. I also got the cutest mini rosé cake, and my signature cosmo of course.

After we got ready, we went to Catch for my birthday dinner. Best decision ever! We got the perfect pics in the front entrance with the floral wall. Like I mentioned before we went during a dry week, so I feel like we got extra special treatment :) The server was literally amazing. He was so sweet and started off by giving us free shots and drinks to start off our meal. We ordered some amazing food, and overall just vibing with the server. He brought the head chef over to meet us, and he made us his specialty sushi roll. To make the dinner even better he comped my entire meal! So my whole birthday dinner was free and It was overall the best experience I have probably ever had! The staff at catch are AMAZING. The service is perfect, and it was just such a great 21st birthday experience.

After catch we planned to go to a few clubs. I had an amazing promoter named Dante. He introduced us to a few other promoters and we had fun and felt safe the entire time. We started off at Hakkasan, and went to Tao right after. The DJ at Tao grabbed my phone and it was such a funny experience because I was trying to record him, but then he insisted on grabbing my phone, and started recording when the beat dropped. In my birthday vlog there’s the video of him at the end lol. After the club we went to this penthouse that overlooked the Las Vegas skyline in the Venetian. It was so breath taking and a perfect way to end the night!

The following day we decided to go to Mrs. coco. This was kind of a JOURNEY to get there, but it was so worth it because this place was honestly the highlight of my trip. We got the VIP experience (a must if you are going with a lot of people or if you’re just bougie like me lol). We ordered the carousel of drinks where we could pick the types of drinks and it comes out on this intricate carousel. The drinks are very unique and some are interactive here. They have a food menu that reminded me of a tea party. With the VIP experience you sit in front of this floral wall with a light up sign that says Mrs.Cocos. It is PERFECT for cute pics! The table had encapsulated flowers, and the whole restaurant is covered in flowers. It was decorated so festive around my birthday because of Christmas and it was giving NYC Christmas vibes.  BUT PINK!! I believe they do themed menus because they had a whole Christmas themed menu that looked delicious. It’s pretty far out from the strip,  but the town around Mrs.Cocos looks like a town from Italy or something. Maybe I’m over exaggerating but it was such a different vibe than downtown Vegas. I will definitely be going back next time I’m there!

We had to stay longer than expected because our flights were so messed up on the way back to MN. We ended up staying at the MGM Grand hotel. I loved it! I’m happy we got to stay there the last night because we were able to go to Omnia, which is one of the best clubs in Vegas. I was able to join a table behind the dj booth and it was such a fun experience. I love when clubs use those big fog machines lol. After we went to a penthouse in the MGM and got to see an even better skyline of the city! It was so pretty and the best way to end my bday trip.

I loved vegas and I will definitely come back again! I personally feel like it would have been fun with more friends, because we kept running into people warning us about the dangers of being 2 young women in Vegas. Which is totally understandable! We definitely kept safety in mind always. It was just overwhelming hearing it 24/7 and even random people would bring it up lol. I think if we went in a bigger group we wouldn’t have been warned about that as much as we did. That is a huge thing to note though no matter what city you travel to. Always keep your safety in mind before anything else!
